Providence, RI (November 11, 2007): Do you remember R. I. Reds Heritage Society's previous four "Lunch & Crunch" events? Well, this season's fifth event is going to be "Munch & Crunch" --- held entirely at Providence College's Schneider Arena on Saturday, February 9, starting at 5 PM. In cooperation with the college, the Society will offer free parking, a delicious pre-game buffet dinner in the private Friars' Room at Schneider, followed by a Division I Hockey East clash featuring the PC Friars, coached by local Tim Army, against a powerful University of Vermont Catamounts sextet. Face-off will be at 7 PM. "This year's event will present more conveniences for our patrons," explains Dick Reniere, a member of the organization's executive committee. "Unlike our previous events, folks won't have to move from a restaurant to a game venue, and pay for parking. A special video dinner program is in the planning stages. The Reds also hope to have on hand some of the team's former players who reside in Rhode Island. As in the past, cost for the event will remain at $30 per adult and $15 for children ages 12 and under. Due to space limitations for dinner in the Friars' Room, reservations will be limited to 80 persons. The Society reports that 30 tickets already have been sold. Those who need more information should call the society's office at 401-247-2666, or visit the group's web site at www.rireds.org. |
