Reds Heritage Society Tests RI High School Lady All-Stars
Providence, RI (3/23/2018): The Heritage Society put the 2018 RI Girls High School All-Stars through their paces on
March 23 during the first-ever AHL Skills Challenge held at the Dunkin' Donuts Center
in Providence.
Twenty-nine Lady All-Stars, including this year's RI Girls "Hobey Baker Award" winners, tested heir individual and team skills in an exhibition of four challenge drills (puck-handling
slalom, shot accuracy, hardest shot, and breakaway) following the Providence Bruins OT win at the Dunk earlier in the evening.
The event was organized by the P-Bruins, along with Vin Cimini and Mal Goldenberg of the Heritage Society and the hard-working coaches of the RI girls high school co-op teams, led by LaSalle/Moses Brown Coach Sean McNamara, all of whom planned and adminsitered the events.
The Skills Tests were followed by a 30-minute, 4-on-4 All-Star Game played in front of an entertained attendance of family, friends and fans who stayed on after the P-Bruins
contest.
The event also served as a primer for what the P-Bruins and the Reds Heritage Society hope to be a scheduled series of "Skills Challenges" for invited youth groups to the
Dunkin’ Donuts Center next season.
